Modern extension to a prominent Sheffield listed office

  • We are pleased to welcome Tom to Thread Architects this week. Tom, like us all is currently working from home, but will eventually be based in our Sheffield office. A graduate from Sheffield Hallam University, Tom joins us as an Architectural Assistant and will work and gain experience of a wide range of residential, community and commercial projects Tom has previously worked on a variety of commercial design projects, from police headquarters to office fit outs that have developed his design and 3D modelling skills.   • In line with the latest guidelines we are currently restricting our non-essential travel and working from home where possible to reduce the potential spread and impact of COVID-19. This means that we may need to arrange meetings virtually or send email updates rather than meeting in person. Additionally to this, we are taking sensible precautions in and out of the office such as good hygiene and hand washing. Please be assured that we are aiming to maintain ‘business as usual’ as much as we possibly can. So here are some things we have been working on this week: - Technical design drawings for a new house. - Reviewing on site queries remotely with photos sent from the builders on site. - Internal renders for a domestic renovation project. - Preparing to submit a new community centre project for pre-planning advice.
