We spent yesterday afternoon in Derbyshire on several visits.
The first visit was a pre-contract meeting in Belper for a new glazed extension that we have been working on with the Client for the last couple of years. We’re really excited to see this project realised on site creating a birch ply lined garden room and new Kitchen space to be finished by Sheffield Sustainable Kitchens. More on that in the coming months…..
Our second visit was to a full house refurbishment in Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The works to the main house are nearly complete and the new rear extension spaces have been knocked through and tied in to form two first floor bedrooms and a Dining area and Snug on the ground floor. Externally the two bedrooms are picked out in new angled gables. Below the ground floor wall folds underneath the gables to form a covered area outside the Dining Room. Built in a timber frame the extension is constructed and lined ready for the new windows, timber cladding on the first floor and render below, see the image at the top of the blog. We’ll keep you up to date with progress of this and the third gable side extension to follow.

Lastly we popped to see the now empty field where the straw bales that will form the walls of the Straw Bale house in Tibshelf. These have now been delivered on site and are waiting for us to visit this weekend where we will be helping the Client prepare and stack the bales…..very exciting!! Our next blog will be all about this week!!
