We were asked to design a new space that would connect a disconnected house and garden. Working with the Client we thought outside the box and created a series of spaces connected by views and light. The Client’s loves of literature, music and nature are all celebrated within.
In the existing house the Dining Room has full height purpose built cupboards that allow the remaining space to be minimal and uncluttered with high level views through to the garden. The necessary messy part of everyday home life are discreetly hidden away in a new Utility. The new Kitchen space is simple and stylish with views out to the garden through a full height window and across the new living space below with the new library on the opposite wall.
Stepping down from the Dining to the Living area in the Garden Room light floods in from above from a full width rooflight and the views open out to the garden beyond through large sliding glass doors. This is a space for reading, listening to music or just enjoying nature.
