This project uses an existing loft space to form a new study and home office within the confines of an historic cottage in a conservation area.
The loft is divided by an original structural solid stone wall. Using this existing divide, the loft is split in two partly opening up the roofspace to the living room below creating a dramatic vaulted space exposing the roof structure. Into this a crafted timber stair is inserted, leading up tot he second half of the loft space which is converted into a bespoke home office and study. The space is flooded with light with the addition of subtle conservation rooflight and a small side facing view window and a frameless glass door to allow natural light to flow through from the living room.
