T he design for this new house looked to create new indoor and outdoor spaces that would allow the Client to enjoy the gardens al year round from different perspectives.

We were pleased to recently gain planning approval for this new build house in South Yorkshire. The proposal is to demolish an existing 1970s bungalow and construct this modern new home. The site is in the conservation area, so we worked closely with the local Conservation Officer and planners to ensure that they were part of the design process leading to a straight forward approval whilst still achieving the contemporary design the Client wished for.

Finished in stone and flush buff brickwork the house opens out to the rear gardens. The open plan living space steps down into a sunken garden room that is mirrored by a new terrace space shaded from above. Similarly, the Kitchen and Dining spaces open out on to a higher terrace. On the first floor a master bedroom suite looks out over the garden.

An early concept model of the design

We are now starting work on the detailed design and look forward to the design being realised later in the year.
